Tour of Hammamet town centre and its medina
Getting around and finding a taxi:
To get around the local area, you can take a taxi. Taxis can be found outside the hotels. Always ask the driver to switch on the meter. To get to the town centre, tell the driver to head for the Hammamet medina. A one-way fare to the town centre is around 10 dinars during the day (3 CHF). In the evening, the fare is around 15 dinars (4 CHF).
Things to do in the medina:
- Having a drink by the sea at the café The Beach or Sidi Bouhdid.
- Take a stroll through the narrow streets of the old town and browse the shops selling local handicrafts (prices are negotiable).
- Enjoy a meal with a sea view from the rooftops of the medina at the Barberousse Restaurant.
If you’re looking for a general shop or a chemist’s, you can easily find one near the hotel or in the town centre.
Note : If you come across someone who claims to work at the hotel where you are staying, do not trust them. They are trying to haggle or sell you something.

This magnificent villa, built in the 1920s, is surrounded by lush Mediterranean gardens and offers exceptional views over Hammamet Bay; today, it is one of Tunisia’s most prestigious cultural centres.

Hammam, massages and spa
After a day exploring Hammamet and the surrounding area, there’s nothing more enjoyable than a pampering break at a top-quality spa. Through our travels and research, we’ve discovered a place we’re happy to recommend to travellers seeking relaxation: the spa Five Senses right inside the 5-star «The Sindbad» hotel, which combines Eastern traditions with modern treatments in a gentle, soothing atmosphere. You can enjoy treatments such as the hammam, scrubs and massages, as well as beauty treatments.
We love this place for its intimate and sophisticated atmosphere. The spaces are carefully designed to promote relaxation, with décor inspired by the Orient. Whether you’re with your partner, with friends or travelling solo, this spa is an excellent way to round off your stay in Hammamet.
Good to know: Book your treatment in advance and present your Mimo Voyages voucher to enjoy a 15% discount on treatments. You will receive this voucher by email when you book your stay with us.
Guests at both our hotels can take advantage of these vouchers.

Catering:
Hammamet is brimming with restaurants and street food. Here’s a selection of the restaurants we like:
- The Italian restaurant Bel Canto, which serves fresh, tasty dishes at reasonable prices. It is a 5-minute taxi ride from the hotels and is located near the city centre.
- The restaurant Bella Marina, which offers a varied menu featuring Mediterranean and international dishes, as well as specialities made with fresh seafood and fish.
Good to know: You will receive a 15 % discount at the «Bel Canto» restaurant and a 10% discount at the «Bella Marina» restaurant, upon presentation of the vouchers that will be emailed to you when you book with Mimo Voyages.
If you fancy a dessert by a lovely swimming pool, or if you’re a fan of «shisha» in a modern, youthful setting, head to this lovely complex Yocca Lounge, just a few minutes’ taxi ride from the hotel zone. You can even play padel there.
Just a stone’s throw from the «Les Orangers Garden and Bungalows» hotel and not far from «The Sindbad» hotel is the Café aux Lumières Germaine Coffee. The owner is a true artist and connoisseur of Hammamet, who decorates his outdoor garden café with a thousand and one lights, fruit and antique furniture sourced from all corners of the country. The setting is unique and magnificent, transporting you to another world and inspiring you to dream, whether by day or by night. You can enjoy a drink or a meal there.
